Prof. Diana Pitea

Dear pen friend,
my name is Ana and I am 14 years old. I am in the VIIth grade at School Number 2 in the town Targu Mures, Romania. I like dancing, reading, listening to music and playing basketball. I have a brother in the Vth grade at the same school. His name is Daniel.
During the summer holiday which lasts from the middle of July until the middle of September, I stayed at my grandparents in a village near here and I also went to the Black Sea with my parents, for a week, here in Romania. During the winter holiday, which lasts 3 weeks, I stayed at home with my family and at Christmas I went with my friends to the teachers’ homes and we sang Christmas carols.
I am very happy that our schools began this partnership because I will finally be able to use my English “for real”. Please excuse some of the spelling mistakes that I shall make; our English teacher will correct some of our letters but she told us that she will not have enough time to
correct all of them.
Now I am going to tell you a few things about our school. It is situated in the center of the town Targu Mures, in Mures county, Transylvania, Romania, Europe. It is a school for children aged 6-15, grades 0 (a sort of kindergarten) and VIIIth. Each class has about 25 students. We learn Romanian, Mathematics, Geography, History, English, French or German (at choice between the 2), Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Music, Drawing, Sports, Religion (the majority of the students are Orthodox Christians) and Computer Science. The students between Vth and VIIIth grades have a “form master”, a teacher that is in charge with extra- curricular activities, such as visits to museums, trips, relations with our parents, etc. This teacher also teaches one of the subjects I mentioned earlier; for example our form master is the English teacher.
I am looking forward to reading about you and your life. In the envelope you will find a photo of myself.
Yours, Ana
